Why I Never Became a Dancer (1995) – video work by Tracey Emin

As part of the Artist Stalk #4 series, at the invitation of Gianina Cărbunariu, Contemporar Cluj hosts the video work Why I Never Became a Dancer (1995) by British artist Tracey Emin, which evokes her adolescence in the small town of Margate, her early sexual experiences and her passion for dance, culminating in her participation in the 1978 British Disco Dancing Championship. Tracey Emin, born in London in 1963, represented Great Britain at the 2007 Venice Biennale and was made a Dame in 2024. Admission is free, visiting hours: Thursday 1 October 15:00–19:00, Friday to Sunday 2–4 October 16:00–22:00 (White Night of Galleries).
