Privacy policy

You can use the site without an account and without telling us who you are. We only receive personal data if you send us an event or write to us, and statistics and personalised ads only start with your consent. We do not sell data to anyone.

When you visit the site

Like any website, the server receives your IP address and technical details about your browser, which it needs to send you the page and to protect the site from abuse. We do not use them to identify you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site working and secure (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). What is stored in your browser is listed in the cookie policy.

When you add an event

The form asks for the event details, the organiser’s name and an email address. The name and email are never shown publicly: we only use them to contact you about that event. To limit automated submissions, we also keep a cryptographic fingerprint of your IP address, from which the address cannot be recovered. The legal basis is your request to publish (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in preventing abuse (point (f)).

The submission, including the name, email and fingerprint, is deleted automatically once the event is over, whether we published it or not.

When you write to us

We use your address and message only to reply, and keep them for as long as that takes. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering you (point (f)).

Accounts

Accounts are only for the team that runs the site; visitors cannot create one. For them we keep the email address and the sign-in session.

Visit statistics

Only if you agree, we use Google Analytics to see, in aggregate, which pages are read. The legal basis is your consent (point (a)), which you can withdraw at any time. The details are in the cookie policy.

Advertising

We show ads through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on those visits. In the European Economic Area they are only used with your consent, requested through Google’s consent message; without it you get non-personalised or limited ads.

You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time in Google’s My Ad Center. How Google uses data from partner sites is explained in Google’s own explanation.

We work with providers that process data only on our behalf: Supabase (the database and sign-in) and Railway (the site’s hosting), plus Google for statistics and ads, on the terms above. Some are United States companies; where data leaves the European Economic Area, the transfer relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

We do not sell or rent personal data. We only hand it to authorities when the law requires us to.

You have the right to know what data we hold about you, to correct it, to ask for it to be deleted or restricted, to object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw any consent at any time, without affecting what was done before. Write to us at contact@haiundeva.ro.
