Opening of ROADS, a performative drawing exhibition, Eugen ALUPOPANU, ArtEast Gallery, NAG 2026

Eugen Alupopanu presents "ROADS", a performative drawing exhibition, at ArtEast Gallery (108 Str. Păcurari, Iași), as part of NAG 2026. The opening takes place on Friday 2 October at 19:00, and the exhibition can be visited from 1 to 14 October. Curator: Dana Lungu; coordinators: Adrian and Rodica Crîșmaru, Mihai Gîtman.

The project explores the border between visual arts, notation drawing and performative practices. The drawings are made on the move, along the routes travelled by the artist, from Bistrița and Cluj to Bucharest, Chișinău, Kassel and Iași. After the first seven years, which resulted in an exhibition at the Bistrița-Năsăud County Museum Complex and a 365-page catalogue-object with 263 performative drawings made over 84 journeys, the project continues. The exhibition in Iași brings this archive together in the city of the author's human and artistic formation.
