The Iași Forensic Science Club (Clubul de Criminalistică Iași) is organising practical, interactive forensic science workshops for school and university students, at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Environmental Protection in Iași. The beginners' module, for young people over 15, takes place on 24–25 October, from 11:00 to 16:30 (10 hours). The group for children aged 12–14 meets on 4 Saturdays, between 7 and 28 November, from 11:00 to 13:30 (10 hours).
Participants learn how to use the forensic kit, crime scene investigation, evidence collection, fingerprinting, crime reconstruction, analysis of suspicious substances, basic notions about drugs and DNA separation. The biological samples used are artificial. The Advanced module investigates new cases. The workshops develop observation, logical thinking, analysis, synthesis and the ability to argue a case.
The price is 600 lei (10 hours), and the schedule may be adjusted depending on the number of participants.
