The Cluj-Napoca Romanian National Opera presents the musical My Fair Lady, by Frederick Loewe, on 21 October 2026 at 18:30. Artistic direction is by George Zaharescu, with the direction taken over by Mihaela Sandu, set design by Gheorghe Codrea, choreography by Victor Vlase and choreography taken over by Anca Opriș Popdan; the choirmaster is Corneliu Felecan, with the institution's Orchestra, Choir and Ballet Ensemble.
The show tells the story of Eliza Doolittle, a London flower seller, transformed by phonetics professor Henry Higgins as part of a bet made with Colonel Pickering, in order to present her at the Embassy Ball as a high-society lady. The musical's songs also formed the basis of the 1964 film of the same name, winner of eight Academy Awards, starring Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison in the lead roles. The performance is in Romanian, includes an interval, ends around 22:00, and is recommended from the age of 5.
