THE FOUNTAIN OF BAKHCHISARAI | Boris Asafiev

The Romanian National Opera Cluj-Napoca presents, on 9 October 2026 from 6.30 pm, the ballet "The Fountain of Bakhchisarai" by Boris Asafiev, in three acts with a prologue and epilogue, on a libretto by Nikolai Volkov inspired by the poem by Alexander Pushkin. The show is conducted by Flaviu Mogoșan, with choreography and stage direction by Vasile Solomon, set design by Magdy Hawash and costumes by Luiza Enescu, and the cast includes Lucian Bacoiu, Daniela Drăgușin, Adelina Gribincea, Augustin Gribincea, Mircea Munteanu and Petra Trăilă, alongside the Ballet Ensemble and the Opera Orchestra.

The story follows the impossible love between Khan Girei and the Polish princess Maria, against the backdrop of the jealousy of his favourite Zarema, in a show with two intervals ending around 9.00 pm; the recommended age is 7+.
