National Conference "Private Law Arbitration in a European Context", 10th Edition

The Centre for European Law Studies of the „Acad. Andrei Rădulescu” Institute of Legal Research of the Romanian Academy, together with the International Commercial Arbitration Court attached to the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania, is organising the 10th edition of the conference "Private Law Arbitration in a European Context" on 20 October 2026, at the headquarters of the Institute of Legal Research. The theme is structured around four pillars: the independence, impartiality, availability and competence of the arbitrator; artificial intelligence and emerging technologies in arbitration; arbitration in ESG disputes; the efficiency of arbitration from the perspective of procedure, costs and third-party funding, as well as recent developments in international commercial arbitration.

Papers may be submitted until 28 June 2026 (title, abstract and keywords, in Romanian and English) and must be sent in full by 15 September 2026, to mihai.sandru@icj.ro; acceptance will be notified on 3 October, and the session programme will be published on 5 October. The papers will be published in the Romanian Journal of European Law; the conference is credited with 5 points for doctoral students, participation with a paper is free of charge, and the event will be held in hybrid format, in person or online.
