From 28 to 30 September 2026, the Surgical Training Institute in Bucharest is hosting the intensive workshop "Basic Skills in Laparoscopic Surgery", aimed at residents and specialists in general surgery, gynaecology and urology who want to strengthen their practical skills in laparoscopic surgery. The course directors are Florin Turcu and Bogdan Dumbravă, and the programme covers the principles of laparoscopic surgery, camera navigation, handling and cutting techniques, clipping, endoloop application, specimen extraction with an endobag, needle handling and intracorporeal suturing (single-stitch and continuous), on models and biological tissue, plus the principles of safe pneumoperitoneum and surgical energy.
The programme includes theoretical lectures, video examples, interactive discussions, daily debriefing and assessment of basic laparoscopic skills. It is endorsed by EAES, held under the auspices of RAES and accredited by the Romanian College of Physicians with 18 CME credits.
