The best pasta in Iași
Carbonara the Roman way, fresh pasta made every day and house-made bigoli: seven places in Iași for pasta, from Rosmarino to Pasta House, with what to order and opening hours.
- Places
- 7 restaurants and pasta bars, from Piața Unirii to Păcurari
- Our pick
- Rosmarino by Sapori, 4.9 on Google from 350 reviews
- Budget
- 37–69 lei a plate of pasta; 45–55 at most places
- Mind the hours
- Pasta House and Gastronomia Toscana open on weekdays only, until the afternoon
Iași does not yet have the dozens of Italian restaurants of Bucharest or the pasta bars with queues at the door you find in Cluj, but it does have a handful of places that take pasta seriously. Two pasta bars make their own pasta from flour and egg, a restaurant on Piața Unirii serves house-made bigoli and tagliatelle, and an Italian delicatessen has opened its own restaurant, with a carbonara made the Roman way: guanciale, egg and pecorino, no cream.
For this guide we read the ratings and reviews on Google Maps (checked on 7 October 2026), the local press and the menus the venues publish on their websites and on delivery apps, so we can tell you not just where to go but also what to order once you get there. We gave priority to places that make their own pasta. The Google rating is the starting point, not the verdict: a 4.9 from a few hundred opinions says more than a 5 from a few dozen, and the place with the best pinsa in town is not necessarily the best place for pasta.
The list has seven names, not ten: we left out restaurants that are temporarily closed and those where pasta is just one line on a menu that has a bit of everything. Under each name you will find the rating, address and opening hours from Google Maps. Prices are those on the menus published by the venues and may change; where a website offers discounts on online orders, we give the full price.
1. Rosmarino by Sapori: our pick
4.9from 350 Google reviews: 4.9 out of 5 stars
Șoseaua Păcurari 121 (Mall Moldova) on Google Maps
- Daily
- 10:00–22:00
Rosmarino is the restaurant of Gourmetteria Sapori, the Iași delicatessen of the online shop FeelOlio, which brings in olive oils, cheeses, cured meats and pasta from small producers in Italy. It opened in 2024 in what was then ERA Shopping Park, on Șoseaua Păcurari, and today it sits in Mall Moldova, the mall built on the same site. On Google you will find it under the name Sapori, with the highest rating of any restaurant on this list where pasta is the main event.
The menu is short and sticks to the classics: ten pasta dishes, three risottos and four desserts, cooked with ingredients from the same delicatessen. The pasta is not made in-house but is Italian durum wheat pasta; the sauces, though, follow the classic recipes, and the carbonara is the Roman one.
What to order
- Spaghetti Carbonara Vera: guanciale, egg, Pecorino Romano DOP and Parmigiano Reggiano DOP, no cream (54 lei), the most popular dish on Google
- Mezze Maniche Cacio e Pepe con Nobil Cotto, with prosciutto cotto and rosemary (54 lei), which Iașul nostru described as al dente, with a delicate, creamy sauce
- Rigatoni all'Assassina: San Marzano tomato sauce, spicy fresh salsiccia and pecorino romano (54 lei)
- Linguine alla puttanesca con tonno, with tuna, anchovies, capers and olives (59 lei), praised by one Google reviewer
- Tagliatelle ai funghi porcini e tartufo, with porcini and truffle sauce (59 lei)
- Lasagna Rosmarino, with béchamel, parmigiano and the house ragù bolognese (54 lei)
- if you are not in a pasta mood: Risotto Rosmarino con guanciale (54 lei); for dessert, tiramisu or Bronte pistachio cheesecake (32 lei)
The vibe: a small, simple restaurant with the Sapori delicatessen at the same address, where you can buy the oil, the cheese or the pasta you just ate to take home. Good for an unhurried lunch or a dinner after a round of the mall.
What people praise
- the pasta: “among the best pasta I've eaten in Iași”, writes one reviewer on Google
- the quality of the Italian produce, which “makes the difference”
- the risotto with guanciale and the linguine alla puttanesca
- the friendly waiting staff
Good to know
- not everyone is as enthusiastic: one reviewer found the pasta did not live up to the expectations the reviews had created
- book by phone, on 0740 795 277
- budget: 40–120 lei per person, according to estimates by Google reviewers; a plate of pasta costs 49–59 lei
Why it is number one: it has the highest rating of any place on the list that lives off pasta, ingredients from its own Italian delicatessen and a carbonara made the Roman way, at a lunchtime price.
2. Pasta House: fresh pasta every day, to take away or eat in
4.7from 201 Google reviews: 4.7 out of 5 stars
Strada Maior Eremia Popescu 1 on Google Maps
- Monday–Friday
- 11:00–19:00
- Saturday–Sunday
- closed
Pasta House calls itself a “pasta to go”, but for many of its customers it is the place with the best pasta in town. The house rule: “Every day we prepare fresh pasta from re-milled durum wheat flour” and egg, which then appears on the menu as spaghetti, maccheroni, fusilli or tagliolini. Portions weigh 400–450 grams, and the prices are among the lowest on the list.
What to order
- Carbonara: fresh spaghetti, pancetta, pecorino romano, egg yolk, garlic and pepper, no cream (41 lei)
- Bolognese: beef and pork ragù with pancetta, vegetables and red wine (47 lei)
- Gamberi al vino bianco: prawns, white wine, spinach, pesto and pine nuts (54 lei)
- Quattro formaggi, with fresh maccheroni, sweet gorgonzola, brie, mozzarella, parmesan and toasted walnuts (47 lei)
- Alfredo, with fusilli, chicken, mushrooms and parmesan (43 lei), the most popular dish on Google
- vegetarian: Alla Norma, with courgette, peppers and cherry tomatoes (40 lei), or Aglio, olio e peperoncino (37 lei), the cheapest plate on the menu
- for children: small portions of 220–250 grams (26–37 lei)
The vibe: a small place, designed mostly for takeaway. “The place isn't wow, but it's cozy”, writes one reviewer, adding that once the plate arrives it no longer matters where you sit. Good for a quick weekday lunch.
What people praise
- the taste: “the best pasta in town”, writes one Google reviewer
- the quick service: you do not wait long
- the pasta can be adjusted to your preferences
- the prices, for portions of almost half a kilo
Good to know
- it is open Monday to Friday only, until 19:00: not an option for dinner or at the weekend
- it also delivers through Wolt
- the Amatriciana and Pasta Friends appear on the menu “while stocks last”
- budget: 40–60 lei per person
The best plate of fresh pasta you will find in Iași for under 50 lei.
3. Rigatoni Pasta Bar: pick your pasta and sauce, at Palas and Iulius
Rigatoni is the most-reviewed pasta bar in Iași, with two locations, one in the Palas area and one in Iulius Mall, plus another in Timișoara. The concept is simple: you choose the type of pasta and the sauce, and your portion arrives within minutes. The pasta is fresh, “produced in our own kitchen, only from wheat flour and egg yolk”, as the website puts it, and the menu has eighteen sauces, a few risottos and desserts.
What to order
- Carbonara, with pancetta, egg yolk and a mix of cheeses (50 lei), made with cream, so not the Roman version
- Bolognese, with beef ragù (49 lei), or All'Amatriciana, with pancetta, tomato sauce and red onion (48 lei)
- Con gamberi e zucchini, with prawns, courgette and cherry tomatoes (55 lei)
- Quattro formaggi: gorgonzola, mozzarella and brie (50 lei)
- Primavera, vegetarian, with broccoli, truffle paste, cherry tomatoes and mushrooms (45 lei)
- Pomodoro (40 lei), the cheapest portion
The vibe: food court style, with quick service and shared tables. Not a place for a romantic dinner, but for a good lunch between shops or a meal with the kids, who, as one parent writes on Google, “ate very well”.
What people praise
- the speed: the food is ready very quickly
- the carbonara, with “a good amount of meat”
- loyalty: one reviewer writes that every time she comes to Iași, she eats pasta here
- the portions, which work for children too
Good to know
- the Iulius Mall branch has a 4.9 from nearly 300 reviews, higher than the one at Palas
- it is the most uneven place on the list: among the reviews you will also find complaints about a tasteless bolognese or too few prawns
- on the website, online orders get 25–30% off the prices above
- budget: 20–40 lei per person, according to Google
4. Romeo e Giulietta: house-made bigoli on Piața Unirii
Romeo e Giulietta is the Italian bistro on Piața Unirii and, after Cannoleria, the place with the most reviews on the list. The name is no accident: a photograph of the original wall of Juliet's House in Verona has been transferred onto 40 square metres of wall, and guests are invited to leave a message, a thought or a wish on the walls.
The menu is long, with pizza, burgers and Romanian dishes, but the pasta to order is the kind marked “own production”: bigoli, thick and rustic, and tagliatelle made from durum wheat semolina, water and eggs.
What to order
- Bigoli alla carbonara: house-made pasta, guanciale, eggs, Pecorino Romano and pepper (55 lei)
- Tagliatelle Romeo e Giulietta, the house dish: house-made tagliatelle with pesto genovese, parmigiano, cream and walnuts (55 lei)
- Tagliatelle ai funghi porcini, with butter and porcini (61 lei)
- Paste Genovese, house-made pasta with pesto and parmigiano (45 lei)
- Lasagna Toscana, with ragù bolognese, besciamella and mozzarella (58 lei)
- Seafood spaghetti (69 lei), among the most expensive plates of pasta on the list
- on Google, the most popular dish is bigoli all'amatriciana, which does not appear on the delivery menu on the website: ask your waiter
The vibe: an Italian bistro right in the centre, its walls covered in messages left by guests. Good for dinner for two after a stroll along Ștefan cel Mare and for visitors who want a safe bet right on Piața Unirii.
What people praise
- the house-made pasta, praised in a recent review
- authenticity: one reviewer recommends it to anyone looking for “an authentic Italian restaurant”
- the fact that it is, as one reviewer puts it, “one of the most underrated places in Iași”
Good to know
- it has the lowest rating on the list, 4.3, and the menu is very broad: stick to the house-made pasta
- bigoli and tagliatelle also come gluten-free, for 5 lei extra
- it is open until 23:00, the latest of any place on the list
- budget: 40–120 lei per person, according to Google
5. Cannoleria: pinsa, cannoli and a good lasagna
4.9from 1,737 Google reviews: 4.9 out of 5 stars
Strada Sfântul Atanasie 21 on Google Maps
- Daily
- 12:00–22:00
With a 4.9 from more than 1,700 opinions, Cannoleria is one of the best-rated Italian restaurants in Iași. The chain was started in 2019 by Andrea Di Russo, a chef of Sicilian origin who grew up in Rome, around two specialities: pinsa romana and cannoli, filled to order with ricotta. The owner of the Iași branch, on Strada Sfântul Atanasie, is Alin Coșescu.
Pasta is a short chapter here: one lasagna and, on the chain's menu, two kinds of filled pasta. We included it because, if you come with someone who wants pinsa, you can still eat a good plate of pasta in one of the best-loved Italian restaurants in town.
What to order
- Lasagna alla bolognese: egg pasta sheets, beef and pork ragù, béchamel, mozzarella and Grana Padano (69 lei, 350 g)
- Ravioli filled with beef ossobuco, in a pecorino and pepper sauce, and agnolotti with burrata and basil, in tomato sauce: they are on the chain's menu, but no price is published for Iași
- alongside the pasta, a pinsa: Gricia (69 lei) or with mortadella, pistachio and burrata (75 lei)
- for dessert: cannoli with pistachio or chocolate, filled to order, or tiramisu, the most popular dish on Google
The vibe: Italian music and a décor that, several reviewers say, makes you feel you are in Italy. Good for dinner with friends or family, with pinsa in the middle of the table.
What people praise
- the authentic Italian taste and the ingredients brought over from Italy
- the tiramisu and the cannoli
- the friendly, attentive staff
- the Sicilian lemonade
Good to know
- only the lasagna appears on the Iași delivery menu: if you are coming for the ravioli or agnolotti, call ahead on 0720 369 369
- budget: 60–140 lei per person, according to Google
Why it is number 5: in a ranking of Italian restaurants in Iași, it would be at the top. In a ranking of pasta, it loses out to the places where pasta is the main event.
6. Partigiano: a Neapolitan pizzeria with thirteen pasta dishes
4.5from 775 Google reviews: 4.5 out of 5 stars
Șoseaua Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt 4 on Google Maps
- Daily
- 9:30–22:00
Partigiano presents itself first and foremost as a pizzeria: authentic Neapolitan pizza with ingredients brought from Italy, in a quick-service restaurant designed from the start as a franchise network. Its pasta menu, though, is surprisingly long, thirteen dishes, and their descriptions list fresh pasta, from spaghetti to fusilli.
What to order
- Paste Carbonara: fresh spaghetti, guanciale, egg yolk and Pecorino Romano DOP (49 lei)
- Cuori di burrata: fresh spaghetti with burratina, cherry tomatoes, Parmigiano Reggiano DOP and basil (49 lei)
- Note di terra, vegetarian: fresh fusilli with courgette, aubergine, kapia peppers and pecans (47 lei)
- Scampi: spaghetti with prawns, white wine, baby spinach and pistachio (59 lei)
- Pomodoro or Arrabbiata (44 lei), the cheapest
- and, since you are here, a pizza: the Pizza Burrata and the Margherita con bufala are the most popular on Google
The vibe: a quiet restaurant with “good vibes”, as one reviewer writes, good for a family meal or for a pizza and a plate of pasta shared between two.
What people praise
- the authentic Italian food, which “never disappoints”
- the pizza and its dough
- the quiet dining room
Good to know
- orders placed on the website get 20% off the prices above
- the prawns are defrosted, as the menu itself states
- it opens at 9:30, so it also works for an early lunch
- budget: 40–60 lei per person, according to Google
7. Gastronomia Toscana: an Italian lunch on Strada Armeană
4.6from 53 Google reviews: 4.6 out of 5 stars
Strada Armeană 20 on Google Maps
- Monday–Friday
- 10:30–16:30
- Saturday–Sunday
- closed
The smallest place on the list. Gastronomia Toscana describes itself as “your little artisanal food spot” and sits in the centre, on Strada Armeană, next to the Armenian Church. It promises “the most appetising products from the Tuscany region”, and the day's offer is announced on its Facebook and Instagram pages.
What to order
- lasagna bolognese, one of the dishes announced in the venue's posts
- baked pasta bolognese, gratinated in the oven
- the pasta of the day: check the offer on Facebook or Instagram before you go
The vibe: a small, welcoming spot, good for a weekday lunch if you work in or are passing through the centre.
What people praise
- the taste and the quality of the ingredients: one reviewer writes that by the end of the meal he was already thinking about what to order next time
- the staff, kind to everyone, couriers included
Good to know
- it is open on weekdays only, until 16:30
- the rating comes from a small number of reviews
- current prices are not published online; according to Google, customers spend 40–120 lei per person
In short: where to go, depending on what you want
- the best pasta in Iași: Rosmarino by Sapori
- fresh pasta made daily, at a low price: Pasta House
- a carbonara like in Rome: Rosmarino, or the bigoli alla carbonara at Romeo e Giulietta
- a quick lunch at the mall: Rigatoni Pasta Bar, at Palas or Iulius
- dinner for two in the centre: Romeo e Giulietta
- pasta and pinsa at the same table: Cannoleria
- pasta and Neapolitan pizza: Partigiano
- dinner after 22:00: Romeo e Giulietta, open until 23:00
A few tips
- ask for carbonara without cream: the Roman recipe has only guanciale, egg, pecorino and pepper, and that is how Rosmarino, Romeo e Giulietta and Partigiano make it; at Pasta House it comes with pancetta, also without cream
- at the weekend, check the opening hours: Pasta House and Gastronomia Toscana are closed on Saturdays and Sundays
- order on the website: Rigatoni and Partigiano give 20–30% off online orders
- for house-made pasta, go to Pasta House, to Rigatoni or, at Romeo e Giulietta, to the dishes marked “own production”
Opening hours, menus and prices change, and Google ratings shift as new reviews come in. Check each venue's page before you set off.
