The Iași.Travel Association organises free walking tours in English, lasting approximately 2 hours, on Saturdays at 10:00 (all year round) and on Tuesdays at 18:00 (April–October). The meeting point is in Union Square, in front of the statue of Alexandru Ioan Cuza (or in front of Hotel Traian, due to works in the area), and the tour ends at the Palace of Culture and the Palas complex. The guides are volunteers, mostly students or graduates of Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, and the route includes 10 historical landmarks such as Union Square, Miron Costin Square, the National Theatre and Opera, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Roman Catholic Church and the Three Hierarchs' Monastery, plus useful recommendations for visitors.
The activity works on a voluntary tip basis, groups usually have 5–10 people, and for large groups, other dates/times or tours in other languages (Romanian, French, Italian), the organisers can be contacted via Messenger or at contact@iasi.travel.
