Yen | 9G at TNB

The play "Yen" by Anna Jordan takes place on 25 September 2026, from 7:00 pm, at the Teatrul Naţional Bucureşti (National Theatre Bucharest, Bulevardul Nicolae Bălcescu no. 2), as part of the 9G at TNB programme. The translation is by Bogdan Drumea, direction by Ciprian Chiricheş, set design by Maria Constantin, sound design by Teodor Zamfir and lighting design by Cristian Ciopată, with Sevi Stan, Mario Monţescu, Teodora Antal and Diana Pomparău in the cast.

The play tells the story of two teenage siblings who survive almost alone in a suburb, with a mother unable to care for them, and explores how they discover affection and first love in the absence of a parental figure; the British playwright and director received the Bruntwood Prize for this text in 2013. The performance is not recommended for those under 14 (it contains scenes of violence and coarse language), and tickets are available from the TNB Box Office and online at www.bilet.ro.
