On 25 September 2026, between 18:00 and 23:00, the ID/IFR and Digital Education Department and the Multimedia Centre of the Politehnica University of Timișoara, together with Spotlight Heritage Timișoara, the E3UDRES2 Alliance and the Accelerate Future HEI project, are organising European Researchers' Night at the UPT Technical Museum (Splaiul Spiru Haret) and at Nokia Campus (Bulevardul Republicii 21). Admission is free.
At the UPT Technical Museum, visitors can discover technological and digital evolution, from MECIPT-1 to virtual reality, virtual tours of Timișoara and of the Nokia phone museum, interactive edutainment applications from Heritage in the Spotlight, VR and AR/MR applications, AR games with objects from the city's cultural heritage, as well as presentations of research results from the E3UDRES2 and Accelerate Future HEI projects.
At Nokia Campus visitors can experience the Nokia Bell Labs VR Museum, a virtual reality application created by student Cătălin Săvoiu (Multimedia Technologies master's programme) on the occasion of Nokia Bell Labs 100, as well as AR/MR games featuring objects from local cultural heritage. The event is part of the Spotlight Heritage Timișoara cultural project, co-financed by the Timișoara City Council, the Timiș County Council, the Ministry of Culture, and the EEA and Norway Grants.
