SUMMARY:CARMINA BURANA - Cluj-Napoca
DESCRIPTION:Carl Orff's Carmina Burana is performed on 9 December 2026 at 1
9:00 at the Casa de Cultură a Studenților in Cluj-Napoca. The performanc
e brings together members of the Symphony Orchestra and the Mixed Choir of
the Târgu Mureș State Philharmonic\, and the tenor part is sung by Ște
fan von Korch\, artistic coordinator of the Musical Extravaganza season.\n
\nThe work\, built in 24 tableaux with a circular structure symbolising th
e power of fate\, starts from the famous "O Fortuna" and passes through mo
ments of lyricism\, exuberance and humour. Orff turned the tales from a co
llection of medieval texts into one of the best-known vocal-symphonic work
s in the world\, premiered in 1937.\n\nȘtefan von Korch has been invited
to take part in more than 40 productions of Carmina Burana in Romania and
abroad\, and in 2024 he opened the Palermo Classica Festival with this wor
 k. He has sung roles in "I Puritani"\, "The Barber of Seville"\, "Rigolett
o"\, "The Elixir of Love" and "Falstaff". He has also performed in concert
  in Tokyo\, Zhuhai\, Nanjing\, Chongqing\, Kaiserslautern\, Zaragoza\, Pal
 ermo\, Padua\, Zürich and Bratislava.\n\nhttps://haiundeva.ro/en/cluj/eve
